KOD 33

This one design sailing boat has been developed to provide both amateur and professional sailors with the same sensations as a modern-day America's Cup monohull. The design brief also required reduced crew, stability and easy transportation.

The design combines large sail area, a very simple rig without backstay or runners and enough stability to make hiking not necessary. The appendages give the boat most of her character since they influence the sailing performance as well as the transportability. The keel has a trim tab which provides excellent upwind performance, generally tacking at 70 degrees, and allows the appendages to be small and thin.

The boat's adjustable trailer has been designed to tow the boat in a high position with the keel fully extended or in a low position with the keel fully retracted. At the lower position, the highest part of the boat is at 2.24 meters from the ground and with this setup the boat and the trailer fit into a 40 ft. container.
